Kristi is a 500 hour RYT, who came to yoga while competing in triathlons as a way to ward off injury. Though only in her 20’s, years of competition and training had left her with very little flexibility, and unable to touch her toes (something she still finds challenging today.)
In 2014, Kristi traveled to Mysore, India to study Ashtanga with Yogacharya Swami Rama and Yogacharya Prakash Iyengar. Her interest in Ashtanga was piqued by its deep Indian tradition, a fascination with the eight limbs, and a love for how the poses are linked together.
Kristi returned to India in 2015 to receive her 500 hour RYT certification in Hatha yoga
under the guidance of Swami Sudhiranand at Shiva Yoga Peeth, in the holy city of Rishikesh.
Her travels then took her to Indore, India to study Yoga Therapy with Dr. Omanandji at
Paramanand Institute of Yoga Sciences & Research. Here she also received specialties in
Yoga for Cancer, and Yoga for Pregnancy.
With Kristi teaching, you can expect to flow with the breath, to feel positively challenged
as well as deeply replenished. Kristi’s classes are equal parts playful and meaningful
and always include guided savasana, pranayama or meditation. You will hear about the
philosophy of yoga from Kristi’s approachable view, but will also enjoy healthy amounts
of silence and reflection in order to better feel and deepen your practice.
